October is one of my favorite months.  For me, it’s the month of colors, month of change, Fall is here and it’s the month of Halloween, my all time favorite holiday.  But it’s also the month my husband and I got married.  October 2, 2014 will make  9 years of marriage (15 together) and when I stop to think about our journey, wow, what a ride.  Like many couple’s we’ve had our ups and downs, but here we stand, together, united and still going strong.  I am so thankful for that and can’t wait for the next 9 years and beyond.  It’s amazing to me that we’ve held on.  It hasn’t always been easy but I am grateful that we have made it.  I truly love him and I know he truly loves me.  That is so special and without it we’d be lost.  So today I want to remind my honey of the lyrics in our wedding song.  Simple yet so meaningful.  We’d never leave each other feeling down, we lift each others spirits and when he listens to my whining and complaints about whatever and he truly hears me, thats when I see how much he cares.  The feeling of someone truly having your back is invaluable.  We aren’t perfect, we may still get angry at one another but I tell you, we’ve done a lot of growing up.  I hope we continue on the right path.

Happy Anniversary Babe!

“By Your Side”

You think I’d leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I’d leave you down when you’re down on your knees
I wouldn’t do that
I’ll tell you you’re right when you want
Ha ah ah ah ah ah
And if only you could see into meOh, when you’re cold
I’ll be there
Hold you tight to meWhen you’re on the outside baby and you can`t get in
I will show you you’re so much better than you know
When you’re lost and you’re alone and you can’t get back again
I will find you darling and I will bring you homeAnd if you want to cry
I am here to dry your eyes
And in no time
You’ll be fineYou think I’d leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I’d leave you down when you’re down on your knees
I wouldn’t do that
I’ll tell you you’re right when you want
Ha ah ah ah ah ah
And if only you could see into me

Oh when you’re cold
I’ll be there
Hold you tight to me
Oh when you’re low
I’ll be there
By your side baby

Oh when you’re cold
I’ll be there
Hold you tight to me
Oh when you’re low
I’ll be there
By your side baby

That’s beautiful! Congrats on your wedding anniversary month. And yes, October is a great month.

PS: I was planning a Sade themed wedding! How random is that?! Great minds think alike! 😉

Thank you Fatima, it really is special to make it every year because each year brings new challenges, maybe a roadbump but also great memories and good times. 🙂
