Tampa's Lowry Park ZooBoo
Tampa’s Lowry Park ZooBoo

We attended the first day of Tampa’s Lowry Park ZooBoo and it was really cute. The kids had a great time and nothing was too scary as promised. There was a scaredy cat fun house which had stops decorated with pumpkins and witches. The decorations were cute and attractive to the eye.  The colors were great.  There was also a small corn maze for the little ones.  A few games were set up for everyone and many picture opportunities with different characters. Halloween music played throughout the park. Kids with costumes walked around with smiles and excitement.  As you enter the park you’re given a bag to collect candies at the many trick or treat stations throughout the park.

My daughter enjoyed the water area that is set up with water spouts, water play fountains and the weather was perfect for a cool down.  Vendors had tables set up with great info and good giveaways.  TruMoo gave away small cartons of chocolate milk.  Metro PCS had a drop your coin set up and wherever your coin landed, would determine your prize.  They had sunglasses, big pencils, rubber bracelets and phone pouches.  Kids had a blast with that one.

There was also a spooky bridge decorated with a lot of spider webs hanging from above.  Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and being able to go an event that kids were not spooked was amazing.  Seeing the smiles on my kids faces made my day.  The kids roller coaster, water bumper boat and carousel are always enjoyed.

The parking was very tough so try to get there early if possible.  The event runs from 1 to 7 and at the end there is a Monster Bash with music and dancing which most kids love.  Our favorite sections of Lowry zoo are the manatee section and aviary which is easy to miss so make sure you don’t pass it as you walk in.  It’s near the entrance to the park.  Because Florida is always warm I recommend you have your kids wear costumes that are breezy and not very hot.  It was a great experience definitely perfect for kids under 10.
