I love taking family trips with the entire gang, which includes my two kids, husband and many times our extended family, sometimes even our two dogs. Our family has a minivan, that we lovingly call, “La Camioneta.”  Without La Camioneta’s spaciousness we’d be stuck in the hubby’s much smaller sedan.  Because we love taking road trips and spontaneous day trips, it’s important that we keep up with her maintenance check-ups.  Without fail, every 3,000 miles we make sure she has her oil changes and car check up.  Igual como la gente necesita sus chequeos regulares, igual nuestros carros.  (Just like people need regular checks ups, so do our cars)

We love that Walmart uses reliable Quaker State oil products and best of all, you can get a pit crew service oil change for just $19.98.  This affordable price makes it easy to keep up with la camionetas regular oil changes taking the concept from “we should change it” to “we can change it”.  Every summer we take a road trip.  We drive anywhere from 3 to 6 hours each way to arrive at our destination.  It feels good knowing we have the freedom to pick up and go with our vehicle.  Flying can be so expensive and while some places you’d just rather fly to, we love having the liberty of getting in a car and going as we please on our own schedule.  This year we took a 5 hour drive to lovely Saint Augustine.  We had zero issues, arrived there and back safe and sound.  Here are five things to make sure you check before taking a long road trip:

  • Check your oil, if it’s been 3,000 miles or close to, take a drive to Walmart Auto Center for a quick, affordable and reliable oil change.
  • Check your tire pressure, even if someone else does it, I like to double check myself. Having the right tire pressure, helps your tires last longer and saves you fuel.  Look for the sticker in your car that actually lists what the best tire pressure is for your motor vehicle.
  • Make sure your windshield wiper fluid is full.  In Florida, we have a love bug problem and when you are driving on any highway your car will hit plenty of these, so have enough fluid to wipe them off.
  • Have your battery checked.  When you take your car to Walmart for an oil change, testing your battery is part of the package.  It feels good to have that peace of mind.
  • Just in case, make sure you have jumper cables, some extra Quaker State Oil, windshield wiper fluid and anything else that will make you feel safer while being on the road.

In addition to having the freedom to go with La Camioneta, she also carries extra family with love. We have family that visit every summer and we love to take them sightseeing and on adventures with us.  Making memories that we will carry in our hearts forever are even better by making sure we always keep our car reliable.  Because of our large extended family it’s nice to have extra space to carry as many people as we can.  From beach outings to family events La Camioneta can carry 7 people comfortably. I consider mi familia to be precious cargo so there’s no question as to having our oil changed every 3,000 miles.  Just like we have to take care of ourselves, we must take care of the vehicle that transports us from A to Z leading us towards adventure safely.  When we’re ready for an adventure, La Camioneta is ready to go! Will you keep your freedom provider, adventure taker ready to go with Quaker State Oil products?
