Miss Latina American Beauty

On January 25th, 2015 Miss Colombia won the Miss Universe Pageant.  She won that crown from Miss Venezuela.  Latinas are known for their beauty and now you can experience a Beauty Pageant just for Latinas in New Jersey.   Thats right! The very first Miss Latin American Beauty Pageant (#MLAB) is coming to New Jersey.  Directors, Cassandra Alvelo and Lillie Morales will host the pageant at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel on April 19, 2015 in Woodbridge, NJ.  The Miss Latin American Beauty Pageant is open to female U.S. Citizens or permanent residents of Latin descent between the ages of 5 – 24 years of age.  Miss Latin American Beauty  offers a positive experience to contestants to help them feel confident in and out.  Pageant director, Cassandra Alvelo feels the #MLAB pageant will offer contestants the opportunity to indulge in their hispanic culture and showcase their intelligence, strength and beauty.

Contestants will compete in the following categories:

  • Evening Wear
  • Interview
  • Runway and
  • Photogenic

The #MLAB Pageant will offer two Optional Categories:

  • Talent and
  • National Costume

During Open Call you can learn how to walk the runway, enjoy a mini makeover, meet the directors and get advice from the lovely MLAB Lifetime Queen Angelica Prendéz.  Swag Bags will be given to the first 25 guests so come out and have some fun.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS:
Cassandra Alvelo has been involved in the pageant industry for over 11 years. She founded the Miss Celebrity Spotlight pageant in 2010. She is an avid pageant mom to her ambitious five year old little girl. Alvelo has been known in the pageant industry to produce her own several high energy events that provide her clients with high quality, opportunities and amazing experiences.

Lillie Morals has a degree in Communications. She has worked for companies such as Walt Disney, Telemundo, Univision, and MTV Networks which gave her unique experiences in the media industry. She has also taught modeling, etiquette and acting for a New Jersey based talent agency. Morales is cur- rently Editor for online magazine/blog, JerseyFashionista.com and runs her own photo/video business from home.

FAQ’s

Who can compete?

Open to Ages 5-24
Must be at least 50% Latina
Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Teen age division and younger must be single and can not have any children.
Miss age division may be single, married, divorced, widowed, and have children.

Age Divisions

Junior 8-10 years old

Pre-Teen 11-12 years old

Miss 18-24 years old

Prizes

* Beautiful crown and embroidered satin sash
* $500 cash (All cash prizes are doubled with 15 or more contestants in each age division.)
* $500 worth in appearance wardrobe
* One page spread in Jersey Fashionista Magazine
* One look photo shoot with Photos by Lillie
* One night hotel stay to the 2016 MLAB Pageant to crown your successor

AREAS OF COMPETITION:
Every delegate is required to compete in all four of the event categories and will be judged on the total of the four areas of competition.

OPTIONAL EVENTS:
The Optional events, Talent and National Costume are not mandatory and do not have any affect on your overall score but these are two fun categories that provide an additional opportunity to win prizes and more.
