How to get your Lawn Ready for Fun with Scotts
How to get your lawn ready for fun with Scotts® Bonus® S

Every year, we look forward to our Easter egg hunt and Easter celebration.  I’m getting ready now by feeding our lawn and treating it with Scotts® Turf Builder® Bonus® S Southern Weed & Feed.  Who wants to pick eggs out of yucky grass or from prickly weeds?

Our front and back yards are extensions of our homes.  We have created a garden that soothes and relaxes.  We enjoy spending time outside and want our yard to be a place that re-energizes us.  The adults sit on the bench and let the yard and garden inspire us while the children escape to other worlds with the use of their imaginations when playing outside.  Not only do we spend a lot of time in our yard, but we celebrate life there.  This Easter will be no different.  In addition to our egg hunt we’ll enjoy lunch on our patio overlooking the yard.  Getting some fresh air while running with the little ones, will always make great memories!   Here are some tips on how you can prepare your garden to enjoy life’s moments.

  • Every week or two, however often you find fit, pick up any fallen leaves or rotting plants from your garden.
  • Check your yard for weeds and dryness and find which Scotts® product best suits your need

I found Scotts® Bonus® S at Walmart in the Garden Center.  Make sure to read the package to find which is the best fit for your lawn.

  • 2x a year we use Scotts® Turf Builder® Bonus® Southern Weed & Feed (in purple bag) only available in: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.  Scotts® Bonus® S helps build thick green turf and kills dollar weed and clover weed.

  • Apply your feed and weed to dry grass.  Always start on the outside perimeter of your yard, going around the outside lining of your yard shape first.  Then work your way in towards the middle by alternating back and forth turning at each end.  Afterwards, water your lawn.

One bag of Scotts Turf Builder® Bonus® S Weed & Feed will cover 5,000 square feet.  Not only will it kill weeds, it will also strengthen your grass against heat and drought, two very common issues for us here in Florida.

A few days after our treatment is complete, we decorate the yard with current holiday season decor.  In this case, Easter items.  We found the cutest sign that says, “Let’s go on an egg hunt.”  It’s exactly what we’re getting ready for next, so it was the perfect item to add to our little garden.  Of course, flower pots, statues, gnomes, rocks all bring your yard area to life.  Getting rid of the weeds is a must to complete the perfect look.

Lastly, enjoy this extension of your home with your loved ones.  Get outdoors and have a picnic, run around with the kids, enjoy some sun rays.  We’ll be doing just that come Easter.   The kids can’t wait to see where we’ll hide the eggs in our yard this year.
