We decided to visit the Marina town area of restaurants in North Fort Myers and what a surprise.  We’ve driven past the area for years never actually seeing the restaurants.  That’s because what you see from the road is the backside.  There are hidden little gems here and our first choice to visit was the Nauti Parrot.  It looked lively, music sounded great and smelled like they had some good stuff cooking.  We immediately sat at one of the lower tables.  They have high and low tables, and inside and outside, plus a long bar.

There was a Jamaican singer named Clive Live that evening who sang some classic tunes, to our surprise, such as Elvis Presley, the Jersey Boys and Chubby Checker.  He even threw in some current tunes and had people dancing.  I ordered a steak, the kids chicken fingers and fries and the hubby, a Philly cheese-steak and wings.  The food was pretty tasty.

The drinks were decent but it was the atmosphere that really made you feel like you were on an island, the vibe was very cool.  We’d totally recommend this place and will be going back.  The cost was affordable and it felt like we’d just stumbled into a secret club.  It was a mature crowd as lots of North Fort Myers/Cape Coral is, but everyone was polite.  My only complaint would be the smoking, but we did sit on what they call the “outside” part of the restaurant.  If you want to avoid that, eat inside I guess, but you won’t get that “feeling” of being whisked away to some island etc.  I know that the evening was made even more enjoyable because the staff provided us with two tablets for the kids to play with for free!  How cool was that?  Our kids were the ONLY kids in the house and this was so unexpected.  They had a blast playing with them and it definitely kept the “can we go now” questions out of their minds.  They wanted to stay longer even after done eating.  I highly recommend this restaurant.  Make sure you check their Facebook page to see who’s performing or what type of music they’re playing.  If you check them out for the first time, let me know your thoughts.
