How many times must we remind the men in our lives that all they have to do is make sure we are happy?  I mean, aren’t they just ecstatic when we are on cloud 9?  Why is this lesson so hard for them to grasp.  Now there is a study to prove it.  A Rutgers University Study, published in the October issue of The Journal of Marriage and Family, shows that “When a woman is happily married, her husband’s overall life satisfaction gets a boost, regardless of how he feels about their union”.

What they found was that when the wife is happy, she will aim to make her husband happy as well.  Because it usually means, you are making her happy, you understand her needs, wants and desires.  And I am not just talking sexual here.  You know what she wants to do on a date night, you know what her favorite music is, what author she likes to read.  You know her likes and dislikes and you aim to please.  You will be granted the same in return.  Women do reciprocate, you know my favorite rule, the Golden Rule, do unto others as you’d have them do unto you.  But turn a blind eye and you’ll see serious trouble in paradise.

Women love to communicate, we need to be heard and understood.  The study suggests you check in regularly, and ask questions.  We can’t all be mind readers.  You have to tell your partner what you need from them in order to feel loved, secure, protected, empowered, wanted, understood.  So take the time to talk to one another.  And guys, don’t fear the talks, embrace them and you’ll see your world blossom! Remember that being in a marriage, is about having a partnership.  Work together to make each other happy.
