Have you ever felt like you needed to take some time to self reflect? To understand ourselves on a deeper level, sometimes we have to quiet our minds and surroundings. Many humans are able to look within, self analyze and learn things about themselves that perhaps was not clear to them before. During this past mercury retrograde of October 2021, many of us have had a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. We were being called to look within and awaken our inner power. Called to examine our fears and learning to overcome them.

Life goes by fast and we have to take care of every precious moment and manage our time. We hear about people taking breaks from social media more and more. We can all benefit from stepping away sometimes, even if it’s just for a short break, to take that time to look within with introspection. Examine your thoughts, let them sit a while and ask yourself why you’re thinking this way.

Self awareness is so important. It helps you get control of your emotions. Release negative self thoughts that make you have negative self talk.  Journal and write things out. It’s also good to read or watch movies. Meditate, whether by sitting still and letting your thoughts come and go freely or by following a guided meditation. Sometimes being alone with your thoughts is the best way to clear them. Knowing where your energy is directed, can help you stay in tune with your own emotions versus everyone else. It can get cloudy in our brains when we hear too much outside chatter. It will be easier to get in tune with your self and thoughts that are going to help you see things in a better light.

Now that we are a minute away from the holidays, remember that taking care of your self includes mental health care. Take a breather from people, things or activities that don’t build you up.
