FruitLoopsLunch

Most of our mornings are rushed and hectic.  No matter how hard we try, we are just not morning people! I ask my kids to help out, even if in small ways, when they can.  Like asking my son to pack his lunch box on days he will stay for the after school program.  Usually there is a prepared sandwich that I made the night before, some fruit or a ham snack meal but some days I’m just not able to be super mom!

I ask him to place the items in his lunchbox so we can save a few minutes.  Besides walking the dog, feeding him and getting ready alone, I try to incorporate something new every once in a while.  On this day, my son couldn’t find anything to pack, so he took it upon himself to grab a gallon sized zip lock bag and fill it up with Fruit Loops and one juice bottle, he claims he forgot the water, and boom he was done!  I had to laugh.  I thought it was hysterical.

Had I let him take this to school, they would have thought I was crazy.  He would have had one major sugar high and probably gotten in trouble for laughing all day long.  If only it could be that simple!  After I repacked the bag, we ran out the door and drove over to  the school to wait in the crazy long drop off car line.  I don’t know where or how car lines began or why they are the way we drop off kids now but boy do I wish they would make it easier for parents.  Schools should have larger parking lots so we can drop off kids like back in the day, right?  It’s a madhouse in the mornings and somedays such a blur.  Luckily I caught the fruit loops gallon bag before it turned into a sugar crush day!
